Re: unit stats modding
FreakNigh, does the Zod Engine use exactly the same file format for robots.exp and levelsXX.dat as the original game?

Re: Z Demo via DOSBox: No Explosion-/Vehicle-Sounds
Hello, I have just tried the Demo in DOSBox and can confirm the missing sound problem. I do not think this is a bug of DOSBox. The AUDIO folder of the demo seemingly only contains the robot talk files. This leads me to believe the Demo was designed to only use these files and it would not use the re...

Re: Another Main. pac FAIL :( Sorry
Your [autoexec] section in dosbox.conf should now look like this. No more, no less: [autoexec] mount C C:\Games\z imgmount D "C:\Games\CD\Z.iso" -t iso Make sure you change the second line to wherever the ISO is located for you. Then all you have to do is launch DOSBox and type "C:" and then "Z" for...

Re: Another Main. pac FAIL :( Sorry
This is actually a common problem (that should be stickied someday). You were trying to mount a folder, namely C:\Games\CD as a CD-ROM drive in DOSBox. However, Z does not fully support this mechanism and thus fails to find a required file. I have just tried it out and as far as I remember, this onl...

Re: Another Main. pac FAIL :( Sorry
Post the contents of your Z.bat and all lines in the [autoexec] section of dosbox.conf respectively any commands you manually type before launching Z.

Re: Missing D:\CUTS\E_LOGO.JV
Press Alt+Enter to toggle fullscreen mode. Set 'fullscreen' to 'true' in the configuration file, if you always want fullscreen when starting DOSBox. Regarding the performance, use DOSBox 0.74. The performance has improved in the latest version, which 0.74 currently is. Also what are your hardware sp...

Re: The Zod Engine
Although I hate to say it, he has one valid point: the images and sounds from Z are most certainly copyrighted. This is an issue I also wanted to raise up. I am not too familiar with US copyright law but can there be a more worse thing than the copyright holder demanding to take down the copyrighted...

Re: Missing D:\CUTS\E_LOGO.JV
You don't need to copy anything from the CD to the hard drive. In fact, I would not recommend installing Z this way as you will likely get missing file errors. There is an easier and more proper way to run Z in DOSBox. First, mount your real CD drive (assuming drive letter is D) in DOSBox by either ...

Z for DOS has no more than 20 levels. Z95 however has some levels beyond these.

Re: The Zod Engine
This is developing very nicely. As usual, here are a few suggestions: Could you draw the territory borders closer to each other? Maybe you don't need that many dots, they distract from the gameplay. Here is an image of how it's done in the original game. Make it at least optional to hide th...

Re: The Zod Engine
You could ask FreakNigh to submit his changes to the SVN repository provided by SourceForge. Then, depending on how frequently he commits changes, everyone could check out the latest version at any time.

Z Fans sind schon ziemlich spärlich über das Internet verteilt. Daher fände ich es besser, wenn wir uns an nur einem Ort, wie dieses Forum, treffen. Zudem lernt man Fans anderer Sprachen kennen. Außerdem gibt es hier stets genug deutschsprachige Nutzer hier, mit denen du reden oder spielen kannst. :...
