Awesome!! Thanks a lot! I converted the files to .wav, works like a charm in Zod Engine and ZED Online.
The voice samples after destroying the enemy's fort are amazing ^^

Re: ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine

By the way, I have heard there is a Russian fan-translation of Z. Do you know if it is complete and how I could get the Russian sound files? In my opinion, a fan-made sound translation into Russian is a bad idea. I've never been interested in that. I can search the archives if you need me to. Thank...

Re: ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine

I also couldn't find these animations. I have to ask FreakNigh how he extracted the other animations from the game. So far I couldn't reach him though. Look here https://zzforum.lewe.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=592 https://zzforum.lewe.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=389 Ahh thanks!! So the DAT and EXP files a...

Re: ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine

I have to check if these robots animations you mentioned are included in the "assets" folder of the Zod engine. If yes, then I would take me about a day to include these animation. If not, then I would need the graphics for that first. In my Zod Engine does not include non-combat robot animations. ...

ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine

Hi everyone, I would like present my current project "ZED Online". My vision is to build a good user interface for the Zod Engine, have great online multiplayer support (ranking, lobby, match-making etc.), fix some bugs in the Zod Engine, new level editor etc. So far, I have worked on the user inter...

Re: The Zod Engine needs your help!

AI should be as close to the original as possible. At the moment, AI has significant differences. To see it enough to run the original game. Last night I kept thinking about your statement. I would like some clarification. Do you mean the enemy's AI or the low level "unit AI"? In my previous respon...

Re: The Zod Engine needs your help!

I am currently working on a lobby server for online multiplayer, which is working but not really stable at the moment. I'm only interested in single player, sorry. 8) The single player mode is currently running fine. But, since I am using the ZOD engine, there are some difference between the origin...

Re: The Zod Engine needs your help!

I agree FreakNigh's code is quite easy to follow. I have so far ported the engine to SDL2 (mainly in order to run it in a window I create using Win API) and added a user interface around it. I am currently working on a lobby server for online multiplayer, which is working but not really stable at th...

Re: Z Expansion German Version

Ahh, I just realized that the Steam version also uses audio files in RAW format. Here are all the sound files in the 5 major languages: https://mega.nz/#F!3SJEhQCZ!GwbOBSsTXLFlc68v6qSWvg By the way, I have heard there is a Russian fan translation. Does anyone have the Russian audio files? Or any inf...

Re: Z Expansion German Version

I am pretty sure Z95 and Z DOS uses the same audio files. You can just copy the AUDIO folder from Z DOS (german version) to your Z95 installation directory. I think, I currently only have all the sound files in WAV format on my drive. I could write a small converter that converts the files from WAV ...

I am interested in "finishing" the engine. Do you have a list of bugs / things that need to be improved?

Re: How Many Z Games Are There?

Z on DOS has 20 single player levels (and some multiplayer levels).
Z95 aka Z Expansion has the same levels as Z DOS + 15 additional single player levels and some extra multiplayer levels.
Z on Steam has the original 20 levels and a abysmal UI.
