Re: the junk yard
ok path finding see it like this you are in the woods you have no idea where to go to BUT behold there is a roadsign a very very very big roadsign it contains a path from your location to every possible location you might need to go to this is meta data since the map isn't likely to change during g...

Re: the junk yard
Sounds great! I had the idea that one could use the zod engine, but get rid of the renderer and all assets. And write a completely new renderer with your assets. For the 3D version of the original game that should be possible. For adding new stuff this approach might be too complicated. But that wa...

Re: the junk yard
I have a few general questions about this project. Sorry, if this was mentioned somewhere on the previous pages. 1) Do you plan to release these assets (models, textures, animation) on some repository? 2) Do you plan to reimplement Z with 3D graphics or would you like to add additional features whi...

Re: ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine
Question to everyone who remembers Z DOS: How long did it take for vehicle to get repaired? Did id depend on the type of vehicle? On the amount of damage of the vehicle / repair station? In zod engine (and zed) it takes precisely 5 seconds. I would like to change that so that jeeps, light tanks with...

Re: ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine
i was having some probems with: save options changes like mousse config, save games, etc bridges destroy problems What is the exact problem? stucks of units, all the time Yeah that is a known issue. Especially when driving over bridges. At some point I have to rewrite the path finding. robots do no...

Re: Something new
I think there should also be a water turret on the fire truck. I think I have see something like that in the game files.
Also, can you create graphics for the cargo truck?
Possibly with multiple frames? All tanks in the game have 3 frames of animation for when they are driving.

Re: ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine
My problem is: the first time I run the program, I can create an account and try to load Level 01 - memory usage is quite high though, around 1.5 GB. When the level starts there is a black background instead of terrain, a strange "intercom" (?) sound and the units when moving leave a ghost behind. ...

Re: Upcoming 0.2.1 Release
Finally! The FTP server was down the last few days, hence the delay.
Version 0.2.1 is out. In addition to the post above one can also now reset a map in single player mode from the ingame menu.
You can also thank city slicker for catching quite some bugs during the Beta test

Re: Upcoming 0.2.1 Release
Version 0.2.1 has now been send out to the Beta testers. Depending on the feedback the release of v0.2.1 should be either next weekend or the weekend after that. This version contains mostly bugfixes, but there is also some new stuff: 1) 3 new hotkeys. Select all units (CTRL+A), Focus camera to port...

Re: ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine
As some people have already seen I have setup some "public test servers". I will try to keep one running all the time and use another one for development. You can all join and abuse the servers as much as you want. They are designed to be played with v0.2.1 but are quite compatible. After joining th...

Re: ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine
So, my plan for the next version is to have mostly bugfixes and quality of life improvements. Apart from that about 80% of the code has now been ported to Linux. A first version of a dedicated server is complete and runs on Windows, Linux and also on ARM architecture. I plan to work on a server vers...

Re: ZED Online - a fork of the Zod Engine
you love this game even more than me. cheers! about the hotkey is a great idea. ofcourse you set a line of defence and you dont need this defence to move, so an afterthought on your great idea, and i hope not so difficult to get done, is that this hotkey select only the units that you miss selectin...
